If you are refering to me I am a long time reader of this forum but prefer to mainly keep my mouth shut and be thought a fool than open it and remove all doubt. Seriously though you can see that people are concerned. Products are being sourced in China to maximise profits and to compete with other manufacturers. There is an interesting book available, the name which I dont have in front of me but delves deeply into the effect that Walmart is having on the American economy. By screwing down their suppliers price it is forcing them to source products and parts in China. The results are starting to prove disasterous for American manufacturers and their employees. It is also happening here. I work in the electrical service industry and the quality of parts is becoming a concern to me. Daily I get asked to check house wiring because all the light bulbs keep blowing. Those from the Warehouse and the Supermarkets are sometimes lasting less than a week. Is this what we want? I dont think so but it is going to continue and there is nothing we can do about it. What will be the long term outcome? |

There have been some issues as to whether they are suitable for replacing the traditional peanut sources and this may lead to minor changes in the final product. Some project work was done a few years ago testing the peanuts and comparing them against the usual sources at that time. I don't see a problem with using China as a cheaper source of peanuts, after all, that's why a lot of our imported goods are now from China. |
