734828 2009-01-07 01:17:00 What were the specs of that laptop? Sounds live a Vista Home Basic laptop with 512MB RAM and a Celeron processor. pcuser42 (130)
734829 2009-01-07 01:25:00 Intel Duo 2 2.0Ghz 4GB RAM 320GB hdd..... not exactly a crappy machine...:illogical aidanmaz (7180)
734830 2009-01-07 01:45:00 Often its not Vista thats causing the problem - its third party software. Take for example some antivirus software - install that and the OS turns to slow, crashing - remove the AV and Vista comes back to being stable - hardly MS's fault if third party suppliers cant write software correctly. wainuitech (129)
734831 2009-01-07 07:28:00 M$ are phasing it out because they make there $$$$$ from selling operating system's so of course they will phase out every single one they make so you keep buying a new one!!!!

But if the one you have does what you need ie. internet/office work/home work/play games etc. then you dont need a new one just because the company that sell's them and of course makes money from doing that tells you that you should to make them more money of course!!!:lol:

Thats just dumb if you do that IMHO!!!!:lol:

M$:We are phasing out XP you should buy Vista its so much better we have put DRM and TPM into it especially for you and you should buy it because we say its better then XP so there.

Joe Blogg:Yes sir master sir will do master sir after I have done picking the cotton field master sir to be able to afford it master sir.

M$:Hurry up too because we are going to phase out Vista and bring in Windows 7 and then we will phase that out and bring in ......

Joe Blogg:Yes sir master sir right you are master sir.

M$;(Suckers,HaHa!!!)
:lol::banana:

Sounds a hell of a lot like Apple other than the fact that they do it with their hardware AND software.

I think:

Vista = Win ME
7 = XP

Wait for it and don't bother with Vista.

Microsoft knew that exactly this scenario was going to happen, and discovered there was nothing they could do about it. They encouraged all PC manufacturers to drop the worst of the bundled software when they started selling Vista computers, but nobody listened :groan:
