| 734819 | 2009-01-06 09:44:00 | I'm running Vista Ultimate SP1 with 1.5GB RAM on dual core 1.6Ghz laptop and it runs sweet as. I got it for free at some Microsoft Launchwave event hehe. I like it more than XP, it's just more intuitive and a better interface even if you're not running Aero. Stability is much better too, I rarely have to reboot. I remember having to do two or 3 XP Pro installs a year, it would crash somehow or slow down over time. Vista seems snappy all the time. Games I don't notice a speed/framerate difference but Toshiba haven't released a Vista ATI driver that has OpenGL which is a bit annoying. | Vecaren (14444) | ||

But if the one you have does what you need ie. internet/office work/home work/play games etc. then you dont need a new one just because the company that sell's them and of course makes money from doing that tells you that you should to make them more money of course!!!:lol: Thats just dumb if you do that IMHO!!!!:lol: M$:We are phasing out XP you should buy Vista its so much better we have put DRM and TPM into it especially for you and you should buy it because we say its better then XP so there. | 734824 | 2009-01-06 21:35:00 | IM using none of the above im using windows 7 beta very stable runs most of the programs i use and has not crashed once since i have been using it. Even though it looks the same as vista it's very reliable and stable for a beta version. |
