They should have been fined at least a million, and that way they could have been made an example of that companies shouldn't falsly advertise a product. Can people who have purchased ribena in the past now demand a refund for being misled? The fact is, it is a drink being sold by an international drug company, why would anyone buy it anyway. Better to buy a locally produced organic product. You can ask that as you sit using Windows? :D:confused::D |

We eat well here in NZ, we have a variety of produce available and therefore don't suffer from nutritional deficiencies. Ditto the legal pushers and their vitamin ads........depends on who you talk to a bit. NZ has a few well known deficiencies hence certain things are added. also a lot is mass produced, the same soil is reused and reused and then reused. while they pump a lot back into it it never really replaces everything that gets taken out. ditto with hydroponics, while the bulk nutrients are supplied a lot of the minor onces are simply left out. how all that effects the population is anyones guess. And in an ideal world that would happen. The public service already accounts for about one third of our economy. To do what you suggest would balloon it out further with no productivity. We need more people producing stuff and less watchers on the sideline. granted, but whats the point of producing anything if you get squeezed out by those ripping everyone off ? |

We take the Tuesday after Easter Monday and long may it remain. And lawyers until a decade ago still closed for Dominion Day - or Spud Monday as it was known locally. That was the day to plant your spuds. The last Monday in September but sadly now lost to all............... |

That's not strictly true, we have iodine added to our table salt because its missing from our diet. I understand we are short on selenium too. Even our livestock are feed these minerals as "supplements." :2cents: |

That's what Karitane babies got their vitamin C from when oranges weren't plentiful. And that's where Central Otago kids like me got a really good dollop of pocket money for whatever you were saving for. It's what you did throughout the Easter holidays -pick rosehips for sixpence a pound across the craggy (very prickly) hillsides. You became practically immune to scratches after a while & you learned how to bribe smaller kids to help. A good start to life's endeavours & an excellent grounding in the lure of capitalism. And Ribena stuffed it up with black currants.. |
