535719 2007-03-27 04:59:00 About 5 years ago I bought the cheapest fencing paint I could from Resene. I believe its mostly the run off from productions runs of various paints - is mucky brown and intended for farmers etc for fencing barns etc. I used it on concrete (my garage). It has worked perfectly. Almost nonslip - dirt cheap - wears reasonably well and is so cheap that it can be reapplied any time at low cost - I am going to get another tin soon.
The only slight snag I found is that if a car is left on it for a long period of time then it can tend to lift some of the paint off when it is moved.
It is also popular with those despicable characters who offer repainting roofs to pensioners at grossly inflated prices.

Typical acrylic, also why it gives reasonable slip resistance.

535721 2007-04-04 20:59:00 There isw a "walk on" paint available that does a good job. But it needs re-doing occasionaly.
Ordinary paint is useless for what you want. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I used Aquatred by Dulux, made for painting concrete drives, etc.

535723 2007-04-04 21:46:00 My, what a wonderful job. Can we be sure that it's yours and not lifted from an up-market magazine?

Congratulations.

535726 2007-04-05 04:42:00 Many years ago the Queen was to visit a factory in Christchurch. The management decided to have the factory floor painted so it would look nice. Expert advice from the paint manufacturer was sought, and the appropriate paint was used to cover the tyre marks from forklifts and many years of accumulated grime. A few days before the visitation, there was a downpour, and the rain was blown through the doorways. The night shift watched the paint float off the floor. We laughed. They were too mean to provide tea sugar and milk for the shift workers. Graham L (2)
