736693 2009-01-10 09:23:00 personally ive had nothing but problems with seagate, while they have a good rep they've done nothin for me (ive killed 5 in the last 2 years, normal working condtitions, bad luck?) so id be goin with the WD, although the 640 is probaly a bit slower cos of smaller cache?

RAM brand doesnt matter, id consider gettin 4 gig thou, makes all the difference with vista

Definitely get a branded PSU, look up the one in my sig, i highly recommend it

hope that helps

736695 2009-01-10 09:31:00 i doubt its that, i had a surge protected box until i moved approx a year ago and i lost 3 of them before the move.

I think im just extremely unlucky cos ive had about everything die for no apparent reason at some point
