735960 2009-01-09 05:54:00 Thanks Holloway for breaking it down and presenting it like that.

Long live the "innocent until proven guilty" mentality.

735961 2009-01-09 10:49:00 Its horrible how simply retarded politicians can be, shortsighted & ignorant. You would think that somebody earning a decent wage as them would have the capability to investigate the implications of something such as this.

I still think Judith Tizzard should be shot in the foot for this ...

;)

735962 2009-01-09 11:54:00 They're policitians! Once they get into parliament, they don't give a stuff about the working class. bob_doe_nz (92)
735963 2009-01-09 20:14:00 I like /.'s idea of constantly spamming the ISP's with her details and fake DMCA letters or whatever ;) Chilling_Silence (9)

735966 2009-01-13 12:23:00 Oh, Chill, it's not like Tizard's coming in here.....she's probably too busy conjuring up other laws that will piss people off.

But then again I wonder why this law hasn't made a huge national outrage stuff? Is it still early days or something?

735968 2009-01-14 10:03:00 I use Torrents for getting (100% legitimate) Open Office downloads, so they can't simply block all torrents. I also use steam for massive game downloads, so they can't simply block heavy users... so what can they do?

How will they determine which file (among millions going through their fibre) are being downloaded against copyright?

Impossible law to implement properly. They'll either ignore it for 99% of users , and just target the 1% of abusers who are doing many, many GB every month, or they'll risk mis-applying the law to a huge proportion of their customers, and causing everyone a lot of grief.

But who ever said you needed brains to get into Parliament?

735969 2009-01-14 10:10:00 I just downloaded a program today for someone who purchased on line and then realised it was a massive download, 1.5GB, and they only on dial-up!

They only had a small window to download it and then the link stops working and unless you purchased the download extension then that's it.

So I went onto one of the torrent sites and found the correct version of it on there and downloaded it. Deleted all the cracks/Key gens that came with it and installed it using the bought product key :banana

Now would I get a notice for doing that :confused:
