| 735924 | 2009-01-08 06:03:00 | Do Inboxes work well as fish bait? Ah well, I found the old code for the anti-virus in the Codes folder (and it worked), and the video editing program stored their serial numbers on-line. No doubt the Trade Me auction with the s.l.o.w... buyer will work out (although it would be handy to have a copy of her one email). Undoubtably mission critical files have gone but their absence will show up in time. At least its solved the problem of all the rubbish in there, various programs haven't crashed 10 times today, ALL programs work AND it is fast to load! |

Does your ISP/email provider limit the size of your mailbox? If not, you should set up your email to keep a copy of all future emails on their servers as well as in your email client. |

| 735928 | 2009-01-10 04:46:00 | Hi Mercury, I lost all my messages from Inbox and Sent items this morning when I was trying to back them up. Windows told me to Compact them which I did and promptly lost the lot. I found a free tool on the net called Power Email Recovery for Outlook Express. I was able to get back all my messages and used Win Explorer to put them all back into the correct OE folders. What a life saver! Cheers LL |

The messages that were in my Inbox and Sent tems all vanished and I tried to open the dbx files to restore them. I must have done something wrong, so if someone could explain exactly what to do, starting from step 1, I would be very grateful. :o LL |

| 735932 | 2009-01-10 06:50:00 | You can't open or view DBX without using something like DBXtract. I haven't looked for a while but the latest versions of that program are not free to restore all emails but you may find an older, free version that will do the job. | FoxyMX (5) | ||

I tried DBXtract but wasn't sure how to work it. Anyway all is fixed now so I am happy! Cheers LL  |
