| 736169 | 2009-01-08 09:03:00 | I am hoping that some one can assist me with a problem that seems to be originating from my own PC. I have been receiving spam that reckons it can enhance my abilities in certain areas. This spam gives my Xtra e-mail address as the source. I still use the Xtra address on occasions so I do not want to remove it. The e-mail uses a name that I gave to commercial game group at some stage, which I found rather interesting, was it from there that the address was picked up? I am concerned that my friends could be receiving the same embarrassing messages and think that I have gone into the enhancement business. I run McAfee, which as you know updates itself regularly. I also run spyware removal bot and Spydoctor. I am getting messages from McAfee saying that Genric pup z is present on my PC and asks if I want it removed to which I say yes, but a day or so later the same error message reappears. What can I do to stop the spam coming from my PC and is Genric Pup bad news and how can I get rid of it permanently. Buy a Mac? |

As for the potentially unwanted program, download hijackthis (www.download.com) & post a log here. | Greven (91) | ||
