535873 2007-03-26 05:23:00 DRM is one of the dumbest ideas of the digital age. It costs a company more to re invent it and patch it than it does for a "DVD Jon" to crack it 1 week later.

Why not just use a quality open standard video codec and sell the clips at a cheap enough price and allow for a bit of sharing to take away the need to crack and distribute of purchased video files. Networks only have to have one file stored as opposed to hundreds of copies of DVD disks.

535874 2007-03-26 12:47:00 There are other measures TVNZ could take to prevent users from cracking DRM restricted content, but Krzyzewski describes these as “draconian for viewers” and says the broadcaster is unwilling to implement them.

What a wimp.
You would never catch Theresa shying away from a drop of the old Draconian.

535875 2007-03-26 23:58:00 Of course, users with Windows (TM) only need apply. We can't have open standards when it comes to protecting Digital Rights :horrified dolby digital (5073)
