538299 2007-04-05 01:42:00 So, this is what you do when you are not posting - a waiter. :groan:
Why use a video? A still picture would have been fine, it appears you had time to do an oil painting ;)

538300 2007-04-05 02:17:00 I paint by number any more . . . .

Anyway . . . I tried to time this so I'd be stuck at the light for a full cycle just to show youse guys the traffic count on a weekday evening .

Remember . . . this was a dirt street just a few years ago . . . . now the people are moving from the LA area to here in droves .

Time to run to another city of refuge . . . .

An interesting sidebar:
(DISCLAIMER: The following is an opinion . . . just an opinion, it might not even be MY  opinion, (or it might), and may or may not reflect the whole story . . sordid as it may or may not be)

The city of Hemet takes second-strikers . . . those who have 2 serious felonies against them and have served time in prison or jail, and imports them here for a special tax credit from the state of California .

The money the state sends is to upgrade and increase the police "footprint" in the city with more patrols, vehicles, ammunition and training . . . not to mention more donuts and coffee . . . but "somehow the money got . . . (er) . . . lost" and the city is now going to pass an increase in the sales tax to cover the shortfall .

Currently the sales tax is 7 . 75% . . . and they want it to go to 10% . . . . ahem!

I bet there are a lot of plain brown envelopes being passed under desks and in dark alleys . (This is the area of disclaimer)

And youse guys think you have political intrigue?

538301 2007-04-05 12:56:00 LOL. They are everywhere !
That is the trouble with you people going around upside down - when the state said "give the place a shake-up", someone local gave it a shakedown instead.
;)
