537703 2007-04-02 11:06:00 But do any of them actually do anything??

I've sent my CV to most of them, and never received a boo from any of them.

Theyre pretty much useless/hopeless for anything.

I dont. Im not working at the mo.

It's either Winz, or other than that, my old job may or may not call me back.

Physically go to places you might be interested in a job? the classifieds in the papers?

The list goes on....

537707 2007-04-02 11:22:00 Hmm I could maybe narrow down some pc shops, maybe. Kind of less likely with web dev though i think CreightonBrown (5692)
537708 2007-04-02 11:24:00 If a 16 year old student, with no qualifications can get a job at a pc job (or indeed run his own tech business) you should have no problems. Dannz (1668)

For some ppl, thats easy to say. BUT, depending on where it is, its not that easy getting there by bus, if u have no idea where it is, and if u have no licence or car. To get there.

Age can also be a factor. Not all of us are 16 / in their teens.

537710 2007-04-02 13:30:00 Sounds like a cop out, get off your lazy bums and do some foot work, buy a map and grab a copy of the yellow pages...

News paper is probably the best place to find a job.

Or you could always stay at home sucking mum and dad dry till your 40.

That might be a good approach if you're looking for a job as a door-to-door salesman. But it's unproffessional rocking in off the street, and it's also a most unproductive way of doing it.

To show initiative would be to draft a letter of interest, enclose a CV and mail it to prospective employers, followed up with a phone call within a week.
