537086 2007-03-30 11:51:00 Well. I haven't seen it, and the fact that Oprah was mentioned in the same sentence means I would move heaven and earth to avoid it, What I read about it within 4 seconds of doing a Google just reinforces that view, looks like claptrap to me, Be interesting to see if a single persons life was enhanced at all let alone to the point of being a happy millionaire with a big house just from making some company rich by spending 50 bucks.

Yeah, I'm a cynic, and proud of it.

537087 2007-03-30 14:56:00 Seriously, if you wanna believe you're in control of your own destiny, then great..

Personally, the fact I wish hard daily for even just an extra $1,000, and it doesnt arrive, no matter how hard I try... says something to me!

537088 2007-03-30 15:03:00 It says...You should pay me $50 so I can fill you full of enthusiasm for your wishing of free money.

Enthusiasm will be supplied in the form of a DVD.

In this way my wish for money will be taken care of.

Skeptics Question the Best-Selling Book's Philosophy
abcnews.go.com

"Thoughts are sending out that magnetic signal that is drawing the parallel back to you," says Joe Vitale, a metaphysician and contributor to "The Secret." "See yourself living in abundance and you will attract it. It always works. It works every time with every person." ... The book's founding principle is based on what is called the "law of attraction," which they claim is scientifically proved. ... "I mean, the idea we can sort of become our own God, in a way, and tap into this energy force, is very arrogant." Reiss also believes that the book's appeal is due to its clever marketing. "I mean, [it's] genius … [to] call it a secret. Everybody wants to know a secret." ...

I watched some of the Oprah TV program last night, on The Secret. One of the panelists pointed out that you must have three things to make The Secret work: Thoughts, Feelings, and Action. So it is not just about having the right thoughts and abracadabra-you-are-rich-and-healthy, you have to take action. Will it work? Imho, yes, it will work for some people, some of the time. For most others it will be a feel-good trip. There is nothing really new in The Secret except very clever marketing. Norman Vincent Peale's book on The Power of Positive Thinking was published 55 years ago.

'Learning', go out and get the DVD and book, follow the instructions, and then come back here and tell us that you have either been ripped off, or that you have set up a million dollar business with Metla as an employee.

Even Tom Stacks in 1930 was singing Send For Our Free Booklet (www.redhotjazz.com) :)
