Add in your veges and pineapple, thicken and serve with deep fried pork bits. The pork is just cubed fatty belly pork with baking soda, starch, egg whites in it. Coated with starch and deep fried.I don't use excessively fatty pork for my sweet & sour - I get the meat from loin chops from the Swiss Deli in Tamaki. And I don't deep fry it - sure I'd love to do it properly but man it's such a hassle to get a proper heat on my electric stove and the cleaning up afterwards is too much work. Not sure about your ingredients for the sauce... mine has to have ginger and garlic, with Chinese or Japanese cooking wine, sans worcester and tomato sauce, and with a bit of gelatine to help the texture. |

Does our venison come from Canada too? store bought venison is so bland. meat tastes according to what the animal eats. wild meat is generaly stronger but i've had some pork from the butches which tasted seriously gamey and tough as old boots, prob some old cheap crap they bought in. i doubt venison is imported, but then again i've seen imported milk before today. thats what i don't like, you have no idea where some of this food is coming from. |

That's why I buy and eat ONLY NZ Lamb and Mutton! The lamb here in the US is so bland you might as well eat the box it comes in for more flavor. I love mutton! MY mom made a thick..THICK mutton stew that my sister and I used to fight over the "skin" on the surface of the stew when it cooled a little. Leg of lamb from NZ has a real flavor that I cannot get in US grain fed meat. Thanks NZ for sending lamb and mutton to the US!... |
