Very good suggestion Jeremy, now why did I never think of that myself?

Actually, that was just the first excuse that popped into my head, I don't really need the forum clock to watch TV on time. It just annoys me when clocks are wrong, that's all. :stare:

If you are not logged in the time is still incorrect.
Shows - All times are GMT +13. The time now is 08:53 AM.
The actual time is 07:53 AM

537930 2007-04-25 21:07:00 Well obviously I am logged on right now, as were you before you logged off again.

And how do you manage to take six minutes to make a very small post?

Current time 8:08am (just).

537931 2007-04-25 21:13:00 Why can't the darn forum clock stay on the correct time?!

Pre-DST it was too fast, now it is slipping further and further back the other way and going too slow .

Come on guys, this is a PC help forum . Put a new battery in the server - the clock has got to be right!! :nerd:

WHY?

Who Cares?

I obviously did not post at 7 . 53 just used it as an example of the time showing when not logged in to the current time .

It is not a huge deal Jack but when browsing when not logged in all the post times are 1 hour out.

537935 2007-04-25 22:28:00 The moral is obvious - login and save time .

A clock's sole job (it's raison d'etre) is to tell us the time NOW, HERE . Anything else indicated is airy-fairy waffle, so a clock that's wrong is throwing porkys . (Check for choc . fish SurferJoe) That is not the responsibility of a clock, we pay good money for politicians to do that .

Where our problem lies, is correcting AM & PM to allow for daylight saving and geographic anomalies such as our permanent 1/2 hour daylight saving . At the moment, the meridian occurs at about 1/2 past 12, in summer it occurs at 1:30 . This is not good enough . Our children are being taught that the AM - PM transition occurs at 12:00 and 00:00 precisely . This is no longer true, and hasn't been for some time . "They" should do something about it (flogging politicians would be a good start) . The real solution is to move the Greenwich meridian to it's proper place . In a typical example of colonial arrogance the meridian was placed in the back yard of some insignificant observatory, regardless of the errors inflicted on the important parts of the world .
If the Army is free on Tuesday, we should invade England and set matters to rights .
