2009-01-11 00:13:00 | Yup all it says, is no bluetooth device. Because the drivers (from the Acer site for BT, dont detect the onboard BT, if its there). It brings up a windows saying just that.. Please plug a BT device in. So, I dont think its got BT onboard (even tho there's an BT icon on it). I thought it may have been the version of the drivers I installed. So, I tried 3 later versions. Nope, same message, plug a BT device in

What does it say, driver wise, in the control panel for the bluetooth radio? If the bluetooth radio is not showing in the control panel does it perhaps need an exe to enable the hardware.. I remember some asus and dell notebooks needed an exe called bton.exe to be run to enable the hardware. Normally this was done as part of the restore image and once the drivers had "latched" onto the hardware all was OK. |

2009-01-11 00:38:00 | Unless you install the drivers (from the Acer site), nothing for it appears in device manager. No ?, no nothing. Thats what the drivers I tried do, install the BT icon in control panel. BUT, because it cant find the B T onboard (if it exists), it doesnt work

2009-01-11 03:00:00 | Umm NO... why would it have XP drivers for bluetooth then ? On the Acer site. BT doesnt need Vista. I'm using BT here on XP

2009-01-11 03:16:00 | But not on an Acer Aspire 5310 eh? Don't take my word for it, have a look at the Acer site, not for their driver bank but for their model number. I think you could have second thoughts. It would be easy enough to try Vista and see if I am incorrect.

2009-01-11 03:29:00 | I can read, it said for Acer Aspire 5310, and the BT drivers were there. And said XP. The Vista x86 / x64 bit drivers were also there It was from the same Acer site, I downloaded the sound, lan, chipset, launch manager, wireless, card reader, touchpad, VGA, modem drivers from. And all installed and all of them work I cant try Vista can I, I wiped its partition and the recovery partition, when I did a clean install, and installed XP

2009-01-11 09:01:00 | I've come to the conclusion that it doesnt have BT. If the drivers that I installed for it, cant detect it (without me plugging an adapter in), its either dead, or doesnt exist Not much else I can do. I'm not planning on buying an adapter for it, since its not mine. If the owner wants BT, then they can buy the adapter
