538490 2007-04-06 23:35:00 So Jack,

So PC. Would you call a "manhole cover" a "personhole cover"?

No way. For about 18 years I taught Technical Drawing at a girls school and absolutely forbade the term "draughtsperson"
If they got a job in a drawing office (quite a few did) then they were draughtsmen. The sex in this case being irrelevant. I got 100% support for this from my students.

But I fail to understand why so many people refer to ladies as actors. In this cast the sex is super important and actress is correct.
Would you consider somebody called Robin Smith who was described as an actor for the part of Florence Nightingale?

538491 2007-04-07 00:50:00 That depends om which part of Florence Nightingale they are playing ;) R2x1 (4628)
538492 2007-04-07 07:32:00 Where I work (a wonderful supermarket, huh), they've done the trick of not being open tomorrow (Easter Sunday) but still invited everyone to come in and work, doing cleaning and stocking shelves.

But if the penalty for opening is $1,000 maximum, they could definitely afford to open their doors to customers.

You wuold think so. But when say all these people finally have a day off they probably want to go shopping aye.

i say Tick up AL days and the individual decide when they want a day off. Say instead of a mandatory holiday they can tick it up as a day they have off.

Only for Good Friday and Easter Monday. Easter Saturday and Sunday are not paid holidays under the Holidays Act.
