Note: Computer Reseller Claimed awhile ago PC Retail only has a margin of like 7%, whereas other areas had higher margins e.g. LCD Screens, Digital Cameras, Plasma Screens, or otherwise.

537778 2007-04-03 08:37:00 The PC market as a whole does not have high profit margins, as noted by Dell's current financial woes. Some parts of the market can briefly experience higher margins (usually offset by the higher development and production costs) until the competition kicks in usually with in a few months and then prices come down very rapidly until you get into the next big thing. As a general rule of thumb any common tech goods sold in hi volumes will generally have low margins. The only way to have a good double digit margin on an electronic product is to design something new and fantastic yourself and then control the distribution channels yourself. winmacguy (3367)
