738438 2009-01-14 00:10:00 Hi everyone,

I'm running Windows 7 but I expect that the steps will be similar to Vista. I've paired my phone with my laptop and would like to transfer my photos onto the computer. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to browse the phone and see all of the files. I've found Receive a File in the notification area but it just sits there waiting for the phone to send, rather than asking me which files I want.

How do you browse to the phone in Windows?

Thanks :)

738439 2009-01-14 00:19:00 You probably need some program for it

Well, I'm pretty sure you need a program for XP, dont know about Vista or Win7

Whats the brand/model of the phone?? I know theres a free program for Nokias around

738440 2009-01-14 00:21:00 You don't *normally* browse to the phone, you send from the phone to the laptop. At least thats the way it works with all the setups i've used. You could see if the phone came with any software for transferring files. wratterus (105)
738441 2009-01-14 00:23:00 True if the phone can send that is. It should be in its options somewhere Speedy Gonzales (78)

Actually, that's exactly what I normally do in OS X. I'm honestly trying to give Windows another chance but keep running into little problems like this, and they all add up.

I understand that Windows 7 isn't finished, but I'm surprised that you'd need third-party software to do something as simple as browse a device. Of course, there's little point in ranting to PressF1 about it :p

It's a Nokia 6275i, and while I can successfully initiate a send from the phone it's a pain to have to physically navigate through it. I'm much more comfortable with a mouse and in OS X I can transfer all of my photos without touching the phone.

738443 2009-01-14 01:11:00 My Nokia I can browse the directories just like Windows Explorer via bluetooth.

With mine it is a combination of the Bluetooth software and the nokia software I think, I don't have it installed at the moment.

Plus text through the phone from the PC, or add/delete/alter contacts/contact details
