738140 2009-01-13 01:28:00 I am trying to download windows updates and also "scrobble" music with a social networking app called last.fm, and both of them are saying that my time/timezone is not correct. Yet when I look it is to me.

I've been known to spend 10 mins trying to figure out why windows won't activate after a reinstall, and then realise I didn't set the clock right.

Spent 20mins wondering why my wireless keyboard wouldn't work, downloaded drivers, did installs and uninstalls, ..... later realised I forgot to put in the batteries :groan:

You can't have it set to automatically update the time or this would not have happened.

The point of using a NTP server is so these slip-ups don't occur and you never have to worry about it again.
