| 738092 | 2009-01-13 00:51:00 | I think the Q8200 has a smaller 6mb cache, though not sure, Intel has released a bucket of cpu in the last 6 mths.....the Q6600 will be easier to overclock due to the higher multiplier however the newer Q8200 has the latest SSE4 instruction set. Edit - Some new benchmarks with the new Phemon II and both Q8200 & Q6600...By the way it almost a given that the Q6600 will clock to Q9650 speeds or 3.0Ghz www.anandtech.com |

| 738093 | 2009-01-13 00:55:00 | Thanks guys. I got the Q8200 b/c if I got any faster clockrate it was more than what I wanted to spend. So the Q8200 it is. A lot of the Q6600 at other trusty places were out too. I got from Computer Lounge - highly recommended? Free postage. The other store gave me a quote with the adjusted new cpu and a adjusted video card cos that was also out of stock. Able to get a ASUS than a Galaxy one :D But cos of the free postal .. it worked out cheaper still overall :D Thanks. |
