| 737767 | 2009-01-12 07:51:00 | Has anyone read this article? (blogs.pcworld.co.nz) I was wondering about what it says, I use Ccleaner to clean my PC and empty the recycle bin if I have sensitive docs I want gone. I have set it to the setting DOD 3 passes. What I want to have is some thoughts from the techs on this issue as they often do some data recovery. :thanks:thanks:confused: |

| 737770 | 2009-01-12 08:45:00 | Well I have gotten some data from drives that have been formatted before - not always successful - but not impossible. If a drive was to go to a forensics centre, the professionals can get data back when all else fails- thats why it costs $$$$$$$ I would say Some of the programs they use are simply not available to the average computer tech. To scan a drive for example can take a day or two. |
