539137 2007-04-10 09:54:00 easiest way to fix the 6x9 is to diconnect them. after they do nothing for good audio, they screw up the sound stage. run decent front speakers and forget the rears.

the amp will only run the sub (i assume your running in bridge mode).

The speaker cavity at the front is rather small and restricting. Recommend any 'decent' small front speakers?

539138 2007-04-10 10:04:00 what size cavity is it? and where is the cavity? tweak'e (69)
539139 2007-04-10 10:10:00 Take all the audio system components from the car and transfer them to secure storage (Under the house, behind a tree, or in a hole.)

Get a Zune, it is from Microsoft so
a/ you know it's good,
b/ nobody will ever steal it,
c/ the car will have more power available for getting tickets,
d/ the fuel consumption will be better,
e/ you will have this extra space in the boot where you can carry stuff.

Facing down, below the dash, and err, quite small? I'd have to measure to give you any idea, I'm terrible at estimating.

539141 2007-04-10 10:27:00 sounds like you need to pul the door trim off and see what will fit in the door. tweak'e (69)
539142 2007-04-10 10:52:00 How about the simple stuff' Have you got decent speaker wiring? or are you using the cheesewire supplied with the speakers. 6x9s are usually 2 or 3 way & don't use a separate crossover. If they're run directly from the head unit I'd check the head unit wiring, ie the size of the power & earth wiring & quality of connection. Rubbish in rubbish out. I've yet to see a boot mounted sub affect the audio quality of parcel shelf mounted speakers & if it does happen it would be so loud it wouldn't matter, you'd have ear plugs in anyway Phil B (648)
539143 2007-04-11 07:30:00 Okay, for the 6x9's I'm using the wiring that was used in the old stereo, so the wiring is whatever Mitsubishi use. I'm guessing it's not top of the line.

The 6x9's are 2 way.

I pulled the back door trim off once to 'fix' (read: 'broke and decided to wire up') the electric window switch and it was near impossible to get it on again the way it was before, so I'm going to pass on that.

But thanks.
