737688 2009-01-14 00:42:00 Nope, it doesn't, but you can try, they don't really have an "official" compatibility list.

I tried it with many unsupported asus routers and it works perfectly.

Too bad the USB function doesn't work.:(

737689 2009-01-14 01:48:00 Ive had the USB function working previously using DD-WRT, however it was only at USB1.1 speeds for some unknown reason. That said apparently even the stock asus firmware on the WL-520GU runs at USB1.1 speed, even though its advertised on the box as USB2.0!! Cheeky ;)
Have reverted back to the -vpn firmware now though, its a nice idea, but kinda useless when at USB1.1 speeds :(

SolMiester,

BWMeter runs on each individual PC. Ive set it up as a service on all my families devices.
It will show them the traffic graphs when double-clicking on the systray icon, but quitting the app or opening the options requires the password (Which funnily enough I havent told them).

You can also set it up to share the reports / logs / statistics, but I havent bothered, its just as easy every once in a blue moon to sit down and have a nosey.

Free trial on their website, give it a whirl, its seriously cool! :D

737690 2009-01-14 04:51:00 Thanks all. I want to use Softferfect's bandwidth monitor to limit and control each ip (PC)'s bandwidth usage. They pay $80 per month for 4 PC so each month they will get 10GB each usage and I assume this bandwidth monitor has this quota function. I might have to install another NIC into this old PC and have 1 NIC connected to the router and another connect to another router with all the other PCs connected. I just don't know how to use the quota function of this software and how to limit bandwidth to each IP. its not to slow them down but they can use the month quota.

Thanks all for your help.
