540186 2007-04-13 03:04:00 In 9.1, I liked the fact that clicking into the Address Bar opened up access to Bookmarks. Unfortunately, although your instructions on turning Speed Dial off work just fine, this does not return the Bookmark function I like (and now miss)... :(

Sounds like you are talking about the Start Bar. Right click a toolbar or the tab bar, choose Customise then put a tick in Start Bar under the Toolbars tab.

540187 2007-04-13 03:29:00 Using the personal bar is better.

This way, u can add the links u use often (up to about 20 of them), on the screen (up the top/right/left/bottom) of the screen.

Then, all u do is click on the link and you're there. Saves u going to the bookmarks at all.

With my PF1 bookmark the nickname is the only one beginning with the letter "P" so as soon as I enter "P" I'm at PF1's homepage.

540192 2007-04-17 23:07:00 You click on hide speed dial down the bottom of the speed dial page to turn it off.

And Show speed dial to turn it back on. (After u click on new tab).

What do u mean 9.1 view? As in whats meant to show in 9.1?

For me, when I create a new tab or a new page I do NOT want speed dial, I want my home page. Always.

Pretty sure you can still keep that option. Myself, I like to start with "Continue from last time" in order to preserve any tabs open when Opera is restarted. Very handy if Opera or the PC crashes or if you accidentally use CTRL+Q instead of CTRL+W.

540194 2007-04-18 02:30:00 I used to admire Opera, and even coughed up for the paid version a few years ago - alas, what has happened to their old and lofty goals?
Upgraded, tried it, removed it from my system.
Veni, vidi, vomi.
Not to my liking I fear, I was not over fond of 9.1, and 9.2 is going where I do not wish to be, it appears that each change is a dumbing-down from the earlier version. I guess I am getting too old to change.

540195 2007-04-18 09:15:00 I first trialed Opera around version 7 - Left it alone for a year until it got better and then picked it up around version 8 again, and I've used it since.

I feel that in my opinion each release has gotten better. I find the speed dial feature quite useful. Open a new tab and *click* I'm on the site I want, or even just type a "1" or "2" etc in the address bar on one of the old tabs and wham I've got the page I preset.

If you don't want 9.2 then uninstall it and reinstall 9.1
