| 539089 | 2007-04-09 03:28:00 | um...I just won an auction on Trademe. Tell me if I muffed it. www.trademe.co.nz Wooho... I'd say you did real good (so long as the speakers haven't been thrashed). I had some infinity speakers once, as good as Wharfdale. If you're really lucky the cd stacker will take the discs right way up so you can read the labels instead of lucky dip. PS, I'm pretty sure Onkyo are mostly Pioneer parts... The back panel is identical to my Poineer. I just 'lightened' the pic on Trade-me and the speakers look ok, foam around the cones all intact. |

| 539095 | 2007-04-09 03:52:00 | Infinity are one of Americas top speaker makers and Onkyo are well spoken of. If you paid $300 odd dollars for it you are on a winner. I own a pair of Infinity Kappa 6 speakers bought in the late 80's cost $3000 new. Trevor :) |

Well, I had decided if Vista wasn't worth buying then I would seriously look at a Mac, And, Vista is a bit of a sad joke. As recently as 10 days ago I was priciing up a new gaming rig when it occured to me I was wasting my money as I already have a damn fine gaming PC and what I really wanted was a video editing station and something for Mrs Metla to have for general use. Greanted rabid Mac fanboys are pathetic and Apple advertising can go to hell, But the current product and price suits my needs, So, I have a Mac arriving some time in the next few days. |

It obviously depends on what range of Infinity speakers you are taking about, but you can pay real big money for Infinity speakers... they tend to have a bright sound, Wharfdale tend to a bit more laid back (very laid back for the cheaper range). You did pretty well Mets. Onkyo tend to underrate their amps for power. Spring connectors instead of binding posts but I suspect thats no concern of yours (Child in Time will sound just as good - the live version). Does the family like Deep Purple :D Actually talking about Child in Time - that must be one of the widest db range of any rock songs. We used to play it at home on Dads old stereophonic valve record player and I sure the screaming (not ours, from the record), used to drive my parents bonkers. |
