| 539402 | 2007-04-09 11:29:00 | I don't know how many companies I have tried to buy computer parts off but I really hate those website that insist I "create a user account". I only want to buy something not sign up to their website, club or newsletter. Well for those sites that do, I don't normally buy off them. Seems to narrow down my choices but thats my way of "voting with my feet" Its time you took note you "sellers of stuff" 1. I don't like signing up to your site just to buy things. 2. I hate "price + gst", why do you do that? Don't you have a calculator or are you trying to put me off? 3. Get your freight sorted, I've had a large CRT monitor shipped from Auckland to Christchurch for $15 freight, yet I try to order 3 SD cards and someone wanted $48 freight - get real. 4. I'd like to know the freight before I get to the final buy page (or sign up). Well I feel better now that I've vented my spleen. Have a nice day. |

They have an email address they know works etc. I've only ever seen one company offering loyalty things. The company gets the email address for sending the receipt and delivery address. I have dealt with companies that don't need people to sign up. It's the common thing now. True but it doesn't make it right or compulsory Its often businesses buying from these people, not general consumers Sorry I don't believe that, I thinks its just one of those mental ploys to make things look cheaper. Businesses normally go to bulk suppliers or to the wholesaler. Maybe someone can prove me wrong. Besides the GST amount turns up on the receipt, that's all businesses care about. Have to agree here Well thanks. I was trying to buy a computer in bits the other day. Case, CPU, RAM, Mobo, Hard drive and screen, two places quoted over $200 for freight, one at nearly $300 (lost sales again) I have a friend who lives in the country and pays extra for "rural deliver" and still has to pick his stuff up in town. Cheers |

You are either not telling us correctly, or you are trying to buy from (some obsucure place) overseas. even normal international shipping doesnt cost that much. |

| 539406 | 2007-04-09 12:30:00 | hmmm...Doesn't sound right to me, Though did you have a couple 19" CRT's in that order?, Perhaps the order required additional insurance seeing as it excedded $1500, which I'm lead top believe is the maximum that courier companies can be held liable for. Anyhow, My order of Motherboard, CPU, Ram,Video Card, Harddrive cost a grand total of $3.95 to ship from Auckland to Wanganui. :D:thumbs: |

Its a Security thing & to make sure the company that your buying things off know its really a real users & not a fake person which it turn if it was a fake person would cost the company money in freight etc |

| 539408 | 2007-04-09 12:36:00 | Uh...Stu, It is to stop false orders clogging the system (and hence money, Time = money) But as these orders are never paid for there is no futher cost to the company. Plus, They get top ask you if you want there spam....Or newsletter as they call it. |

| 539409 | 2007-04-09 18:04:00 | I never use their on-line order forms.. A simple e-mail asking for the total delivered price is the way to go. I also always ask, Do you have it in stock? Can you have it on the Courier today? If you get a prompt reply you know you are dealing with an efficient company. These days I deal almost exclusively with Ascent so have no problems. Beware of Trade Me site. There's an aweful lot of people on there selling stuff and when you buy they order it from overseas. |

Don't you have a calculator or are you trying to put me off? 3. Get your freight sorted, I've had a large CRT monitor shipped from Auckland to Christchurch for $15 freight, yet I try to order 3 SD cards and someone wanted $48 freight - get real. With my website: I don't require that - I hate it too, its there so they can (potentially) spam you. I don't do that either - annoys me too. Even if you are a business, so what? You still have to pay the GST first, you only claim it back later. I use NZPost (CourierPost) for everything under their $250 limit as its the cheapest and most reliable.. |
