2007-04-08 00:13:00 | I have no idea what to make of this. A site I came across whilst searching for a real estate office in Tokoroa. In the light of recent court events my eyebrows raised to the point where they nearly covered my lack of hair. Fortunately we have good moderaters on this Forum. Make of it what you will:- www.bentcops.org A question of who you believe I guess.

2007-04-08 01:07:00 | Well, from things I hear the police (at least some of them) aren't exactly people I would trust or want to get involved with. I hear things about good cop/bad cop routines designed to agitate you to the point where you'll get a bit verbal with the police, who'll then slap you with some charge. Officers who pull people over and ask to search your car using a false cover story that an armed offender is in the area. Police arresting youths with trumped up charges. Using excessive force to subdue people. Using excessive force on completely innocent people who are not posing a threat to anyone, let alone the police. Throw in recent media stories such as that of the police who used a taser on the wrong person and the Rickards affair. I've heard, and believe, that Rickards and his friends were the "bad boys" of the police force down in Rotorua or wherever that whole thing took place. I don't believe that someone who claims convicted rapists are good guys should be serving in the police force. But hey... everyone's free to think what they like.

2007-04-08 01:11:00 | Well, my views on the whole police thing going on at the moment (and this includes the cases that went to court affecting Rickards/ Shipton and co). At the end of the day they are human too. Granted they should (or do) have a code of honour that should be adhered to, but people make mistakes Its kinda like the PM saying f**k you, only difference is he was on camera and couldnt deny or hide it. PM's have a code too Are we going to tarnish them all with the same stick; just coz a few allegedly made mistakes? AS for that site, remember this topic is hot right now, and on a lot of peoples minds. Ripe pickings to throw in some propaganda. Doesn't matter whether its real or false, just whatever ignites the flames further and keeps the sheep baa-ing and the asses braying

2007-04-08 01:29:00 | They would be the very last people I would call if I needed help, Infact I just wouldn't call em, Wouldn't trust them as far as I could kick em, I have seen too much over the years. Having said that, Society needs em, so thats that, Just a pity that after all this media attention the situation is probally just going to get worse, It will always be a closed shop no matter how many reports are submitted by grey haired dames, And now they are pressured to hire boatloads of more cops just about everyone who has been classified as unsuitable in the past has been called up for training. Bad news, I know one idiot who needs to be smacked around the ears badly for what he has done to his family (wife and 3 young kids) Now they are going to slap a uniform on him and send him out to police others? What a freakin joke.

Doesn't matter whether its real or false, just whatever ignites the flames further and keeps the sheep baa-ing and the asses braying It is my belief that any person is innocent until found guilty. Some people have been found guilty when (in fact) they should not have been. Others have been found not guilty due to technicalities in the law. So let us make the law more simple. If we can that is. I am not in a situation where I hate all Police Officers as a matter of course. As was mentioned in my first post. You were pointed to a site and you believe or not. The Westminster system requires the Police prove the alleged offence. This whether under the dog control, bylaws, transport act, and etc. Not knowing the law is not a defence. Being mentally incapable is, apparently. Should we go one law for all this New Zealand I live in or shall we have different laws depending on your ethnicity, religion etc? I note that my local Supermarkets are closed today but the chinese shark and spud shop is open. Possibly they do not believe in Easter. |

2007-04-08 07:17:00 | Bentcops is quite a revealing insight into NZ's police. I'm personaly familiar with some of their devious and heavy handed machinations. The fact is that there are some good cops, and there are some bad cops. The difference? The good cops know how to bend the law to their advantage and screw the public and beat up on innocent civilians. The bad cops do the same but occasionly get found out.

2007-04-08 07:35:00 | Since when did Steve Maharey become PM? Since when did that plonker become an MP is more to the point!! He may well look the bees knees but his very demenour and attitude defies the point of being someone who represents you in the jungle we call parliament!! Regards Gordon.
