Fiddling about with time is never a good idea - we frequently get bad to worse weather at the time daylight saving starts. Stands to reason stretching the day an extra hour is risking making it thin and liable to leak. Just the other day, in attempt to understand how the other half live, I put a lot of stuff upside down to simulate the northern hemisphere. Well, talk about confusing - the clock went from 65:11 to 00:21 in a single bound - nearly put me off my lunch. With things like that happening twice a day and moving winter 6 months out of it's proper place, one cannot be surprised if the weather pulls stunts like desertification occasionally. |

If she landed in LAX, then there is not much chance she has passed here yet, as that's about 125 miles away and there are a fair number of inclines in the way . She would also have to pay a toll for using the 91 Freeway during rush hour . I cannot envision a dust bowl here yet, as today's started out cool, damp and grey . . . much like London during the hottest part of summer . . . . . . Actually, the worst and coldest winter of my life was one summer I spent in San Francisco where you can find a bum frozen to death under a rose bush in full bloom . If you don't like the weather here, just wait 24 hours (don't know the NZ equivalent of that . . youse guys are on the DecaHour standard, right?) it'll change . |

OK, now I'm worried, yeah she 'touched down' at LAX and- how can I put this politely- she would be able to get up a good speed like a tumbleweed . I forgot to give her money for tolls though, so that could slow her down :( If you do bump into her (or vice versa) she makes great pikelets  |

I forgot to give her money for tolls though, so that could slow her down :( If you do bump into her (or vice versa) she makes great pikelets  To get a good feel for her possible ETA, we'd need to get her weight in lbs (pounds) as we don't like to use the metric system in computations here . . . . . and possibly include her dress and shoe size so we can get a better set of numbers on her velocity . Let's see . . . E=MC something or other . . . so . . . . :waughh: If she's actually carrying pikelets and got them successfully through customs without Homeland Security raising a muck . . then she may be OK if she barters whatever pikelets turn out to be to the toll lady . That may take a little time as the conversion of pikelets-to-dollars is rather off the charts right now . If you have cell phone communications with her ask what landmarks she sees . . . as I am fairly sure I have most of the landmarks committed to memory and can figure exactly where she was at any given moment . She may be closer to me right now than you believe . |

Our weather is obviously the sports turbo version, while yours is apparently the family standard model . We normally have several climatic shifts per hour, tall people may have to squint in the sunlight while it is still raining on their children . Just remember, when spotting tourists, Mum's the word . |
