| 739013 | 2009-01-15 14:32:00 | Hi there, I've been installing/un-installing converters because I'm trying to convert some videos, so I've just been trying out software etc, awhile ago windows explorer just started to randomly close/crash and then re-open, I removed the program that I installed last (because I thought it may be causing the program) - the desktop icons and taskbar disappear also and it happens every 5-9 seconds, I'm running Windows XP home edition Sp2, with a HP computer. My computer is pretty much unusable atm, please help me out, thanks in advance. I am thinking of re-formatting but I did that just recently because of driver issues and it took allot of time setting up. Heres my Hijackthis log :dogeye: Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 3:31:27 AM, on 1/16/2009 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\ekrn.exe C:\WINDOWS\RTHDCPL.EXE C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\egui.exe C:\Program Files\Unlocker\UnlockerAssistant.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxtray.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxpers.exe C:\Program Files\Sony\Content Transfer\ContentTransferWMDetector.exe C:\Program Files\dvd43\dvd43_tray.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\E_FATIB ZP.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxsrvc.exe C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe C:\PROGRA~1\FREEDO~1\fdm.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Timothy\Desktop\HijackThis.exe C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe O3 - Toolbar: Foxit Toolbar - {3041d03e-fd4b-44e0-b742-2d9b88305f98} - C:\Program Files\AskBarDis\bar\bin\askBar.dll O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SkyTel] SkyTel.EXE O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RTHDCPL] RTHDCPL.EXE O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Alcmtr] ALCMTR.EXE O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [egui] "C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\egui.exe" /hide /waitservice O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UnlockerAssistant] "C:\Program Files\Unlocker\UnlockerAssistant.exe" O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IgfxTray] C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxtray.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HotKeysCmds] C:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Persistence] C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxpers.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ContentTransferWMDetector.exe] C:\Program Files\Sony\Content Transfer\ContentTransferWMDetector.exe O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTTask.exe" -atboottime O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dvd43] C:\Program Files\dvd43\dvd43_tray.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [EPSON Stylus C90 Series] C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\E_FATIB ZP.EXE /FU "C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\E_S44.tmp" /EF "HKCU" O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [BandwidthMonitor] C:\Program Files\BandwidthMonitor\BWMonitor.exe O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [RegistryMechanic] C:\Program Files\Registry Mechanic\RegMech.exe /H O8 - Extra context menu item: Download all with Free Download Manager - file://C:\Program Files\Free Download Manager\dlall.htm O8 - Extra context menu item: Download selected with Free Download Manager - file://C:\Program Files\Free Download Manager\dlselected.htm O8 - Extra context menu item: Download video with Free Download Manager - file://C:\Program Files\Free Download Manager\dlfvideo.htm O8 - Extra context menu item: Download with Free Download Manager - file://C:\Program Files\Free Download Manager\dllink.htm O9 - Extra button: Messenger - {FB5F1910-F110-11d2-BB9E-00C04F795683} - C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Windows Messenger - {FB5F1910-F110-11d2-BB9E-00C04F795683} - C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe O21 - SSODL: WPDShServiceObj - {AAA288BA-9A4C-45B0-95D7-94D524869DB5} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\WPDShServiceObj.dll O23 - Service: Eset HTTP Server (EhttpSrv) - ESET - C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\EHttpSrv.exe O23 - Service: Eset Service (ekrn) - ESET - C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\ekrn.exe O23 - Service: Imapi Helper - Alex Feinman - C:\Program Files\Alex Feinman\ISO Recorder\ImapiHelper.exe O23 - Service: Remote Packet Capture Protocol v.0 (experimental) (rpcapd) - Unknown owner - %ProgramFiles%\WinPcap\rpcapd.exe" -d -f "%ProgramFiles%\WinPcap\rpcapd.ini (file missing) |

| 739017 | 2009-01-15 23:33:00 | Uninstall free download manager. There was another thread (pressf1.co.nz)here about this program. And it was doing the same thing (it was crashing explorer) When it crashes click on the link the file isnt iefdm2.dll is it ?? If it is, thats the program above causing it Windows explorer usually crashes if a file is corrupt |
