| 541115 | 2007-04-15 01:57:00 | Google paid $3 . 1 billion in hard cash for DoubleClick in a deal that could transform online advertising . At the very least, Google gets an entry into the display ad marketone of its weaknesses relative to rivals such as Yahoo . Yeah, but!!!!! Read On! ( . zdnet . com/BTL/?p=4842" target="_blank">blogs . zdnet . com) This WILL affect us all . . . . . . I block DoubleClick: have it earmarked for destruction in Spybot, my Host files, AdAware and ABP blanks it out too . . . now I wonder what gives? No ads, no view? No look-y, no use-y? BTW: somehow, if I ONLY go here to Press F1, I get doubleclick trying to insert cookies . . . which are blocked of course! CCleaner catches them in cookie limbo and purges the lot of them when I run it . . . but they seem to come from F1 . . . tell me it ain't so! |

| 541116 | 2007-04-15 02:47:00 | About blocking DoubleClick using Spybot: Do you mean that DoubleClick cookies are blocked? What is so bad about DoubleClick cookies? |

| 541117 | 2007-04-15 03:30:00 | Because Doubleclick can then track which sites you visit by linking cookies to hosting sites. | TGoddard (7263) | ||
| 541118 | 2007-04-15 04:30:00 | I used to block Google Adsense. I despised all advertising but after finally needing money to pay for my server, advertising was the only way. Now the only advertising blocked is the bad stuff. :) | trinsic (6945) | ||
