738875 2009-01-15 19:32:00 the consumer gaurantees act says something must be "suitable for the purpose for which it was sold". If they sold you the game knowing you intended to play it on the laptop purchased at the same time the error is theirs, not yours.

They should at least offer to exchange it for something else. They can't refuse refunds just because they put a sign up, you are protected by law. The only difficulty is in proving who made the mistake.

Gaming laptops do exist, but they are very expensive and still won't match a mid-range desktop with a good graphics card. One could argue the point that selling you that laptop for playing games also goes against the act - although it may be difficult to dispute as it will play games - just not well.
