739879 2009-01-18 00:42:00 Old news prob - but one thing I discovered - W7 doesn't have an inbuilt Email program - seems MS are suggesting their Live Mail - or you have to install a third party one - personally I'll use Outlook, as bundled with Office.

Edited: HMMMMMM just got Vista to boot up in half the time - Much better - :banana Heres how - after reading this last night--- click start/type in msconfig - go to BOOT tab / advanced under " number of Processors" change it to 2 ( if dual core) only warning I read it may have affects on some old programs, by default Vista only uses 1 of the cores in a multi processor.

739881 2009-01-18 03:16:00 You can do the same in XP as well. It shows 2 on the other PC here as well (P4 with HT) Speedy Gonzales (78)
739882 2009-01-18 03:37:00 Just tried it on my XP home machine made no difference to boot time gary67 (56)
739883 2009-01-18 03:52:00 Since I have a quad core - I tried changing it to boot from 4 - made no noticeable difference over the 2 - so 2 it is. wainuitech (129)
739884 2009-01-18 03:53:00 Looks like some sites say if its a Quad, it'll cut it from 4 to 2.

So, it'd cut it in 1/2

739885 2009-01-18 05:27:00 I have had a look at Windows 7 Beta.

My thought is that I will be buying it when released.

Like any other O/S it will not be for everyone though.

739886 2009-01-18 06:28:00 They've ditched a lot of programs in W7 compared to Vista, prob to "slim" it down Blam (54)
