739390 2009-01-16 13:53:00 I'm new to the forums and have recently installed Kubuntu on my Laptop.

I'm trying to set up a wireless connection to the internet so i can get drivers etc. but i don't know how to retrieve the numbers and whatnot that Kubuntu needs.

I tried the "ipconfig" command in cmd.exe but none of the numbers seem applicable.

Is there any way to import an existing wireless connection from Vista to Kubuntu?

BTW i installed Kubuntu using the "Install alongside Windows" Option.

Thanks in advance for any help.

739391 2009-01-16 17:36:00 In Ubuntu which Kubuntu is based on you can click on the network icon top right of the screen and get the info your looking for, not sure if Kubuntu is the same have a look it will be the 2 screen type icon. It will probably be the same IP as when you are using windows then if it's the same machine witha dual boot gary67 (56)

'kubuntu "your laptop make" wireless'

eg this is using the search terms 'kubuntu hp wireless' www.google.com

..and then prepare to do lots of reading
