739334 2009-01-16 08:30:00 I have an older case, which does not have front USB ports.

Just wondering, is there an addon that fits in where the drive bays are? (just under the optical drives)

My motherboard supports extra USB ports so no probs there

Just getting sick of reaching behind the case, and can't really justify (or afford) a better case

739335 2009-01-16 08:33:00 Yep, there should be, I've seen USB ports in the internal card reader-which is in the external 3.5"

I'll look around on TM

739336 2009-01-16 08:36:00 Have a look at this (www.ascent.co.nz) it's what I always fit when I need to add a front usb port. Fits in a floppy bay ;) gary67 (56)

739341 2009-01-16 10:00:00 Cool :)

Yeah those are pretty cool. I was going to buy one of the $74 ones. One with firewire. Only prob is, the mobo I HAD, the shop killed it lol. And now I'm using a PCI FW card

On some of those, the cables go to the back (connect to the back connections), to the front.

At the mo, I'm using an Apacer card reader with one USB port.

Havent really used it that much tho. Only reason I brought this, is because it supports SDHC (cards that are 4 GB+). NOT all card readers do.

So, if youre after an SDHC card reader, ask if it supports 4 GB+ cards

739343 2009-01-16 10:07:00 I doubt it.

How many people would connect a USB hdd to the front of a case anyway?

And most external hdds probably need power as well
