739065 2009-01-15 21:25:00 Looking at purchasing a 22" or 24" widescreen. Any body know of any recent tests or comparisons that have been undertaken.
Cheers

739066 2009-01-15 21:45:00 Brands to buy:

Viewsonic
Asus
Samsung
LG (only Flatron though)
Dell (Ultrasharp) 24"

I'd recommend Viewsonic over the others. Viewsonic and LG Flatrons both have excellent warranties.

LG's improved with the new flatrons. They have the same warranty as viewsonic for a start, I've seen a lot and everyones very happy with them. Got some friends who are into gaming, they both have 2x 19" and love them

They are a very nice looking monitor when they're turned off too.

I find Samsung monitors rarely fail so would put them above ASUS but for monitors only (tv's a different story!) Viewsonic have a great warranty but they do fail often enough (had a spate of problems with several Viewsonic A1926w but all forward replaced so no biggie.
