739023 2009-01-15 17:50:00 Looking at a computer which fires out the above error when I try to burn a cd using Nero (7.8.5)

Anyway, had a look online and am reading that it could be such things as DMA is not enabled; crappy media, hardware issue.

However... DMA is enabled, and Windows media player 11 will quite happily burn a CD using the same drive and same media

Anybody else struck this error, know how to fix it?
Client prefers to use Nero

Optical drive is a Liteon SOHW-1693S
OS is XP

Will post a log if necessary, but can't see anything in it that shows an error

The bottom post, someone said a Nvidia based chipset can cause this.

And uninstalling the SM BUS controller fixed it, in add/remove programs

Whats the specs of the computer?

Tried the Nero General-CleanTool but that didn't do a lot.
Uninstalled Nero, then went through registry deleting all keys/values associated with Ahead/Nero

Installed an original OEM version and all works fine. Won't burn at 48x but 40x its sweet as

Incidentally, chipset was Intel... but thanks for the reply anyway :)
