739013 2009-01-15 14:32:00 Hi there,

I've been installing/un-installing converters because I'm trying to convert some videos, so I've just been trying out software etc, awhile ago windows explorer just started to randomly close/crash and then re-open, I removed the program that I installed last (because I thought it may be causing the program) - the desktop icons and taskbar disappear also and it happens every 5-9 seconds, I'm running Windows XP home edition Sp2, with a HP computer. My computer is pretty much unusable atm, please help me out, thanks in advance. I am thinking of re-formatting but I did that just recently because of driver issues and it took allot of time setting up. Heres my Hijackthis log :dogeye:

Speedy Gonzales, the 'EPSON Stylus C90 Series' is the print system tray icon that starts up on startup

And the second one is registry mechanic, I un-installed it and no luck .

The WMdetector is for my Sony MP3 player and I had it installed before the problem

739017 2009-01-15 23:33:00 Uninstall free download manager.

There was another thread (pressf1.co.nz)here about this program.

And it was doing the same thing (it was crashing explorer)

When it crashes click on the link the file isnt iefdm2.dll is it ??

If it is, thats the program above causing it

Windows explorer usually crashes if a file is corrupt

739018 2009-01-16 00:33:00 For DVD to MP4/AVI etc I recommend Handbrake.
