Always around 10 kph over. Doesn't seem to learn.
Instead of the fines I could've bought a new HD, thumb drive, mp3 player, etc.

541665 2007-04-17 03:19:00 Take the car away from her. Or threaten her with no shoes for a month. qazwsxokmijn (102)
541666 2007-04-17 03:21:00 Tell her if she goes the same period of time without getting another one, you'll buy her a new HD, thumb drive, mp3 player, etc. from the saving in fines  Erayd (23)
541667 2007-04-17 03:34:00 so thay CAN ping you for being 10km\h over the limit? ill have to tell my dad this as he always drives at either 60km\h or 110km\h - and insists they cant get you for that

then again a good friend of mine got a $70 fine for doing 51km\ in a 50km\h zone :horrified

EDIT: and no it was not outside a school - just a generic street with a 50km\h limit

541669 2007-04-17 04:02:00 From www.police.govt.nz
"drivers of vehicles other than heavy motor vehicles who exceed the speed limit by less than 11km/h will not normally be issued with an infringement notice providing their speed does not present a risk to public safety in the prevailing circumstances."

Note this was published before the school clampdown.

MAC_H8ER, maybe your friend needs his speedometer or his story checked :0

541671 2007-04-17 04:03:00 Ask her to pay for it herself :D SKT174 (1319)
541672 2007-04-17 04:05:00 10km/h over what limit? more likly she was well above the limit and 10km over was what she dropped to before they registered it or she was doing 60 in a 50zone etc.

i was always on the impression that you never got done for 10% over the speed limit due to the fact your cars speedo can be 10% out. most car manafactures only guarantee 10% accuracy and that only applies to when you are useing the orignal tire size not the size your actually useing.

541673 2007-04-17 04:11:00 I usually do somewhere around 50-58 on 50kph zones, and on motorways 90-110. Never got anything for those speeds. qazwsxokmijn (102)
