740202 2009-01-19 06:02:00 I have a server with Win2K3 Std installed. It was using the windows RAID solution in RAID1 (mirrored) mode. This morning the server couldn't boot as it displayed an error indicating one of the windows files was corrupt. I've booted off the Win2K3 disks and run chkdsk which didn't fix the problem, neither did a repair install. The system just keeps restarting. My question is, is it possible to copy a data folder located on the root directory using the windows recovery console onto a flash drive or another storage device? Will it let me do this?

Thanks for your help in advance.

740204 2009-01-19 06:36:00 Yeah, could try that. The system has 2x Seagate Cheetah hard drives on an Initio Ultra SCSI PCI card. GR8Metal (14133)

740206 2009-01-19 07:04:00 Yeah, not a bad setup. Just really need to get a data folder off the system.... Installed the card and drive(s) into a Windows 2000 system. The Win 2000 system saw the drives but no data!! :-( GR8Metal (14133)
740207 2009-01-19 07:13:00 Does UBCD work/UBCD for win? Blam (54)
740208 2009-01-19 07:41:00 Yeah, will try that tomorrow. It boots to the windows recovery console so the windows folder is in tact. I was hoping to browse around using the recovery console and try and extract data using that environment.... GR8Metal (14133)
740209 2009-01-19 09:13:00 Would you like to upgrade that silly software Raid solution to a Hardware Raid solution?....Trouble with windows software RAID, is its function is determined via a windows service!.....

I could let you have an adaptec 2100S PCI raid controller for .........less than $80.

PM me.....
