740090 2009-01-18 20:06:00 I have the problem of a statioary cursor. I am running Vista Home Premium. I have rebooted, rebooted in safe mode, replaced the batteries in the mouse, use a different usb slot for the mouse control, and nothing works. I have limited access with key strokes. blennox (3452)
740091 2009-01-18 20:51:00 Have You tried a Wired mouse in case the Wireless is broken some place ?

If you dont have a Wired mouse have a look at this page (www.vistax64.com) enable the number pad as a mouse- while this wont fix the problem it will allow mouse control

Now the fun bit - if you are using the PC to view this you wont be able to click on links :illogical

Even if you are using a different PC you will need to do the following if you dont have a working wired mouse.

So using the keyboard only - press the Windows key (second left bottom on board) type in ease , ease of access will appear, hit enter - Keep hitting the tab key until you get to "make the mouse easier to use" - press enter - Tab until you select the check box " turn on mouse keys" hit the Space bar to select/tick it, then using the arrow keys tap down to bring up save/apply, Tab to Save, press enter, now your number pad will act like a mouse - 4=left 6 = right 8= up 2 = down etc.

740092 2009-01-18 21:03:00 Thanks I'll try that tonight blennox (3452)
740093 2009-01-18 22:03:00 Forgot a couple of rather important instructions :D the left click is #5 key.

Once you get to the 'turn on mouse keys" theres the settings link right below that - as shown in the attachment - holding down the ctrl key while pressing down a number makes the cursor move faster.

If this works OK and the wired mouse still wont work, try running system restore back to when the mouse was working - just in case its a software problem - but eliminate or confirm its not the wireless mouse first.

740094 2009-01-19 09:20:00 Thanks Wainuitech.

The problem is solved. I had to press reset buttons on the mouse and its transmitter.

740095 2009-01-19 19:50:00 Another thing to check if it happens again is that the mouse is actually in range of the reciever/transmitter. That's happened to me many a time. pingu45 (13461)
