542710 2007-04-20 21:52:00 Wooow!

542711 2007-04-20 22:02:00 It uses a powerful laser of the sort that could cut through your hand,

Woo!
Now thats one heck of a laser!......

542712 2007-04-20 22:41:00 Sucking enough energy to produce a laser strong enough to cut through your hand, and ultimately powering a fan on a small toy 65 feet away (20 meters?) is not what i would call a practical efficient kind of idea.....:stare:

I'll stick to moving electricity through insulated bits of metal ta.

Aw, c'mon . . . . you have no faith at all in science and technology!

Did you even READ the whole article? It says (paraphrasing here) that there are SAFEGUARDS BUILT IN TO THE BEAM by perfectly operating software to make sure that no PEOPLE, ANIMAL OR PRECIOUS LIFEFORMS are damaged at any time .

There is quite simply, NO way for it to fail and incinerate or decapitate anyone while at the same time guaranteeing a pure, sophisticated way of transmitting energy at high levels of sustained capacity .

You are a Neanderthal in mind and a nay-sayer to things that are progressive, intelligently designed and built by the lowest bidder .

With the security programs written by Microsoft . . what are you belching about?

Damned ingrate! :p

542714 2007-04-21 00:20:00 My calculator has it's energy beamed from considerably further than 65 feet (19m) no wires, no lasers. Same system powers my lawn too, but I neglected to sell start-up shares.
Anybody want to buy a Harbour Bridge? Fuel pellets to run your car on water?

Um . . He was saying that the amount of energy put into powering that fan was pretty extreme and inefficient .

See: SARCASM

# A form of verbal irony, expressing sneering, personal disapproval in the guise of praise laced with humor. (Oddly enough, sarcastic remarks are often used between friends, perhaps as a somewhat perverse demonstration of the strength of the bond--only a good friend could say this without hurting the other's feelings, or at least without excessively damaging the relationship, since feelings are often hurt in spite of a close relationship. ...

542718 2007-04-21 01:06:00 OK...help me here...is "Woosh" a Good or a Bad thing?

I had a really bad thing with "chocky fish" once upon a time...it might be good or bad to someone who doesn't understand NZ-Talk.

542719 2007-04-21 01:17:00 Well, depending on your viewpoint Woosh (www.woosh.com) could be either good or bad. I used to use it, and enjoyed it. Now I am out of coverage (and luck). They don't have any chocolate fish departments. R2x1 (4628)
