What a marvellous place, only one hour from Wn. Lots of interesting and quirky shops and antique places to wander through. Great eating places to choose from. A really enjoyable way to spend the morning and early afternoon before I had to get the plane back to Jafaland. Misty :D ;) PS - The "Istanbul" is a great Turkish restaurant - been there twice - Excellent both times. Can't remember the street name but it is very central. |

The Istanbul is actually in Carterton, just up from Greytown. It is one of our favourites. The Tapas Lounge is next to the Istanbul and is a great place to go after a Turkish meal. |

Hi Steve - am sure that the one in Carterton is great - however I am referring to the one in Cuba St, in Wellington. Just checked with our daughter the location. cheers, Misty ;) |

| 543092 | 2007-12-17 07:12:00 | We flew down to Wellington the week before last to catch up with our daughter and see her new flat. She took us to "Sweet Mother's Kitchen" in Courtney Place. It has New Orleans and Mexican meals. Excellent and not very expensive at all. Very good atmosphere - slightly noisy but friendly. By coincidence it was also reviewed in the same Saturday's NZ Herald and got four out of five. Misty :) |
