543495 2007-04-23 12:29:00 I got the April issue on the 29th March. woah:waughh:

I'd love for the NZ postal system to be pin=point accurate to the second but come on. Many different factors will influence when you get the magazine- mail volume, weather, sorting delays etc. Plus shouldnt you be happy you got it 2-3 days before the start of the relevant month, exactly as others have said???:waughh:

543496 2007-04-23 19:18:00 I got the April issue on the 29th March. woah:waughh: and you do realise that it is only the 24th? meaning there is still 5 days till the 29th, so if you got last issue on the 29th, why are you here complaining??!! :yuck: The_End_Of_Reality (334)
543497 2007-04-23 21:15:00 When is the mag coming out? I understand there is a huge amount of work that has to go into making the mag, but I mean come on! The American PC World is already out in stores. I'm talking about the May issue.

The US one came out mid April..

543498 2007-04-23 21:20:00 What day / month do you expect your Xmas presents? R2x1 (4628)
543499 2007-04-24 00:29:00 Usually about 2-3 days before the end of the preceeding month - and for some obscure reason the Mainland seem to get it first
misty :p

That's because PC World gets printed in Christchurch. I think the actual distribution is supposed to be synced to happen nationwide at the same time but, you know, things don't always happen like they're supposed to.

May's on sale date is April 30. NZ PC World adhear to the calendar month, as it has done since 1989. In the US, publishers are actually running 1.5 months ahead of the calendar -- It's all part of the competitive marketing game over there.

No, merely that a monthly magazine has a 1 month production cycle. Whatever date you slap on the cover is irrelevant in real terms, but alas, significant in marketing terms. There are folks who'll believe that if your "May" issue is on the shelves on April 1st, then somehow you are doing a better job than the folks who put their "May" issue on the shelves on May 1st. Silly, but there you are.
