During comtact with friend in China last week, on two occasions my PC shut down and rebooted.
No apparent reason just down and up. This was in the middle of a conversation with nothing unusual happening.
The only thing I can think of is a momentary power flick although I didn't notice it on the house lights or anything.

Have any of you skypers ever experienced anything like this?
It's never happened before or since but twice in 15 mins??

:illogical:angry
Thanks for any suggestions

740260 2009-01-19 10:02:00 Check your Event Viewer to see why the crash is occurring.

Go to Start -> Run -> Type in: eventvwr

Copy and paste any odd entries that you find.

740261 2009-01-19 11:11:00 Thanks for suggestion but nothing appears to be obvious around that time.
Mind you I don't really know what to look for.

Then click on the icon under the down arrow. Paste it here

Press the windows key + pause / advanced tab. Bottom settings.

Untick automatically restart. Then when it crashes, it may show a file / driver. Tell us what it says / is

740263 2009-01-21 10:34:00 Thanks for sugestions guys, there don't appear to be any warnings of alert symbols around the time that the problem ocurred. As it's about a week or so that I had the prob I may be a bit astray with the exact time/date.
Thanks again for your help. I'll take more note of all details if it happens again.
Cheers

740264 2009-01-21 19:07:00 I think you answered your own question. Esp since it hasn't done it again.

The only thing I can think of is a momentary power flick although I didn't notice it on the house lights or anything ANY sort of power fluctuation can cause a PC to crash / reboot - thats why you need to have a UPS on the systems - a surge protector may save you from minor power surges, but it wont do anything in a power outage, or drop - also known as a brownout.
