1434311 2017-04-17 05:24:00 Hi guys and hoping you had a good Easter break and well rested?
About 18 month ago a professional computer guy we knew upgraded our old windows to windows 10 Pro.
This last week it comes up with license about to expire.
We had this same problem last year and he said he fixed it, using Teamviewer.
Today it was as slow as and after a long wait I was able to put wife Hotmail address into the log in screen.
Is there any way, apart from I understand about $300 for a pro license to get this sorted?
I tried to check out the Microsoft's site, to no avail.
My wife and I are both unwell and on government pensions so dont have the funds to buys another licence.
Thanks for any advice? :thanks
Ian :horrified

Windows 7 Pro or Windows 8 Pro?

Well in that case the "professional computer guy" would have had to supply you with a Windows 10 Pro license when they did the upgrade.
There was no free upgrade from Vista to Windows 10, only from Windows 7 or 8.
I would be going back to them and asking for your Windows 10 Pro license, or your money back.

Yea you could report the computer guy to Microsoft!
If they did this to you chances are they did the same thing to others.

If they won't give your money back demand that they supply the Windows 10 Pro license that you paid for.

No.
But you could report him and they might chase him over it.

Meanwhile you're stuck with buying a real COA. Pensioners aren't that poor unless they have a huge mortgage still.

If I cant make contact in next couple days with computer guy, I'll ring microsoft and ask them.
Any idea where I can find the correct number, for them?
