And don't forget you will probably need a carpenter, a painter, maybe a tiler, an electrician, as well as your plumber to get the job done properly. After the kitchen, the bathroom is about the next most expensive room. |

What if any opinions on this buy shower with out and get it done, can't seem to find any contractors to do this and how much would add to the total cost or DIY option! | micky (7329) | ||
| 1434375 | 2017-04-22 21:17:00 | Great thread. As people have said there are top brands, but where are they made and what is their quality. Chinese stuff can be crap or good. It depends what they get asked to make by their western buyers. Slightly off topic. I also plan to renovate my bathroom and toilet. As my budget is not unlimited should I project manage myself and arrange a plumber, builder, flooring etc or go to a bathroom renovator. |

Do you have any prior reno experience so are aware of what trades are needed at what point? Is this your only bathroom in the house? I got a professional bathroom reno company to do my bathroom. Yes, I paid more overall but got excellent savings on the fixtures and tapware as they got good trade discounts. It was also the only bathroom in the house so I needed to minimise the downtime. To save money, I did all the painting and ordered/collected the tiles myself. No point paying someone else to pick up tiles. |
