| 1433572 | 2017-04-04 21:14:00 | Ok, maybe one of the more builder people here have an idea? We have a spring wheel on the back, at the end. Like you do... Gate open the drive is slightly lower that side than when gate is shut. So, you pull it shut and the wheel compresses down, taking the weight, right? But it doesn't. It just drags, and watching him do it, the gate tips at the top. I thought maybe it needs a wheel each side, in same place? Put a bolt right through to hold both of them? He says it should work, can't work out why not. |

| 1433573 | 2017-04-04 22:13:00 | It is possible with a bit of adjustment to hinge a gate so it pivots on a slight angle and raises or lowers as it goes. Not a builder myself though and not familiar with spring wheels, I just use heavy duty hinges that can support the weight. |

| 1433574 | 2017-04-04 23:33:00 | Solved. 2 wheels fixed it. Finally.............. Rather sick of the gate now. But just the latch to go now. |

It looks like a big gap, but it is currently touching a downpipe. The downpipe is not in use (cause of our tanks) so he's removing that today. Then his builder mate is bringing him a piece of wood. What exactly we do with the piece of wood we haven't worked out yet. Dunno, it's just to level the house, the overhang and the under bit really, to remove the gap. Then put the latch on it. The 2 wheels solution is great, gate opens itself now... |
