1434710	2017-04-28 19:06:00	Hi all, I am thinking of buying this TV here: shop.jbhifi.co.nz I would like to be able to hook it up to a PC and I am thinking of this one: www.pbtech.co.nz Question: 1) How big is the impact in getting a "cheap-ass" barebone PC to power a 49 inch screen via HDMI? i.e. Is there a limitation in terms of HDMI quality output from Intel® HD Graphics 500 (which is the integrated graphics card in that PC) to a 49 inch screen? 2) If the answer to the above question is "stay clear away from that PC", what would you recommend as an alternative? The PC is literally only going to be used to power a TV (e.g. display Youtube videos); no programming / gaming / other intensive activities. Cheers :)	Renmoo (66)

Nothing "powers" a TV as such, it has it's own power cord you know. TVs generally have lower resolution than monitors. I see it's resolution is good, so OK. If you had a 49" monitor though,m it would beat the pants off the TV. But cost a fortune as well, if you could get such a thing. Have to wonder what is "wrong" with it. Perhaps it is getting "out of date" (i.e. no 4k support) "Power", in a metaphorical sense of producing data output via integrated graphics card vs. from a dedicated graphics card. Yeah, resolution is good enough for me (I don't need 4k - 1080p is good enough).	Renmoo (66)

1434718	2017-04-28 23:11:00	Will work fine but is a bit marginal in a couple of areas, I use an i3 NUC myself which is a bit more powerful and it never breaks a sweat. However 32GB with windows 10 on it will leaver you bugger all space to install anything and 2GB of RAM is a bit low even for what you want to do. It'll work but don't expect to multitask or open lots of browser tabs. I had a tablet with similar specs and to be fair it worked really well, but even upgrading from windows 8 to 10 with 32GB of OS drive proved to be problematic (managed but I forget exactly how). It just doesn't give you room to work in. The TV is probably cheap because it's a plasma and they are disappearing in favour of various LED technologies, probably clearing old stock. Which is a shame because in may ways plasma is better. I have a Samsung 60" plasma running of an i3 NUC with a 120GB SSD and 8GB RAM in it and it's awesome.	dugimodo (138)
