1434675 2017-04-27 07:57:00 Hi All.
2 HDs I am interested in
Seagate Expansion 1TB USB 3,Portable HD @ $109.99
WD My Passport Ultra 1TB USB 3, Portable HD @ $97.99

I already have a WD which has a computer image backup. I thought of "copying" actual files/folders, Music, Documents etc. I am assuming 1TB is big enough. Is either of these better than the other? Thanks. PJ

1434677 2017-04-27 12:22:00 Price can determine that. Save some money. Both are however fine, not sure on the USB aspect, but taken out of their enclosure they worked fine in devices I put them in. 5 years, no issues yet. Kame (312)

Too many failures too soon with Seagate lately.

1434679 2017-04-27 21:18:00 I have never had problems with my seagate for over 3 years now.
You might want to look at Noel Leeming, they have a special on Seagate this weekend for $78

1434680 2017-04-27 22:35:00 WD, all the way!

Not the MyPassport though
The actual drive inside the case has no sata connector,
making data recovery all that much harder & making the drive unusable if the cases USB port fails

..unless they changed the construction again
